THIS PAST SATURDAY we had our second Wine vs Food Show that featured two of the top wine merchants in Hong Kong.
Pitted against each other they competed to win over the hearts of our audience by trying to pair their wines with the famous Jahangiri Raan Leg of Lamb Challenge.
Trust me when I tell you that I mispronounced “Jahangiri” at least 20 times and I’m not kidding around.
What I really enjoyed about this show compared to the last was that each table of guests were able to really get star treatment from the wine merchants, where they patiently explained why they thought their wines would go well with a particular dish.
I think the whole intimacy part of the event and how good-natured and fun it is really makes it so appealing to folks. Aside from drinking and eating, they get to learn about wine pairing in a somewhat collegiate experience.
I’m really looking forward to editing the show this week. Just from my sneak peak this morning, I already know that my favorite part of the filming was a part where I wasn’t there: it was when all the guests introduced themselves and boldly challenged us to answer one question about wine that they were curious about.
